This is reflected in section 34 of the ANU Student Assessment Coursework Policy. If you have any feedback on the ECAs, please contact ANUSA at sa.vicepresident@anu.edu.au.

Calling all International ANU Students on the 485 Visa Changes

As many of you may know, the Department of Home Affairs has announced changed to the 485 visa taking in effect from 1 July 2024. One of the proposed changes is reducing the age limit of applicants from 50 years old to 35 years old.

The ANUSA HDR Officer is interested in advocating for changes to relevant bodies and is conducting a survey to understand how the changes to the 485 visa will affect you.

Here is the link to the survey: https://forms.gle/wiwN28gLm7kdhV1V7

Additionally, a petition is currently open for signatures in the Parliament of Australia asking the House to introduce transition periods for the 485 visa changes. Click on this link to sign the petition: https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/petition/EN6198

To see the full list of proposed changes, visit: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/temporary-graduate-485/changes

If you are a current student and unsure how these changes affect you, ANUSA Legal Service may be able to help! You can book an appointment at
https://anusalegalservices.leapweb.com.au/

For recent graduates and more urgent matters, you may seek a commercial migration agent at https://www.mara.gov.au/
