The ANUSA Legal Service provides free and confidential legal advice to ANU students and ANU student clubs and societies. All legal advice is provided by or under the supervision of an experienced practising lawyer. We help students with a range of legal problems including tenancy, migration and visa, employment law, contracts, intellectual property, defamation, discrimination and other areas.

The ANUSA Legal Service provides support to a diversity of ANU students,
whatever your background, status or occupation. We provide support to all students including those represented by the ANUSA Departments and support groups: including the BIPOC, Disabilities, Indigenous, International Students, Mature Age Students, Queer* and Womens. All students are welcome to seek legal advice and legal support.
Some areas of law that we cannot help with include family law, property law, social security, public housing or wills (see below for other legal services).
ANUSA Legal Service Migration & Visa Advice
MARA Code of Conduct.
If you need help with skilled migration, the temporary graduate visa or other long term visas we provide a Migration Workshop which is the best place to start. We ask that students first attend the Migration Workshop before making a booking, if the Migration Workshop is running. Contact our office for further details.
You must be a current student at ANU to attend a migration workshop.
