Music Society

The ANU Music Society runs a String Ensemble, Symphonic Orchestra, Concert Band and Big Band with no auditions. Our ensembles are designed to give musicians a chance to play music in a fun, social, and pressure-free environment.

Rehearsals are held every week with a showcase concert at the end of every semester. We also have fun social events throughout the semester with trivia nights, pub visits and more. It's an amazing way to meet new people who have the same passion for music and a fun way to keep up or improve your music skills during University!

We are open to all ANU students, ex-students, and anyone else who wants to join an ensemble! Send us an email or message us on Facebook if you'd like to know more.

Rehearsals are held every Tuesday and Wednesday during the academic year:

String Ensemble Tuesday 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Symphonic Orchestra Tuesday 7:30pm - 9pm
Big Band Wednesday 6pm - 7:30pm
Concert Band Wednesday 7:30pm - 9:30pm

To join up, either email us or turn up to a rehearsal in Level 1 at 7-11 Barry Drive (across the street from Lena Karmel) - you'll hear us when you get there!
