Event Terms and Conditions

 

Dictionary of Terms

ANUSA – The Australian National University Students’ Association Inc

Event – ANUSA Friday Night Party 2020

You and Your – Any ticket-holder for the event, regardless of the means through which the ticket was obtained.

Event Site – The area designed as the event space on Fellows Oval at ANU.

 

Important

By purchasing or obtaining ownership or possession of any Ticket to the Event, you agree to these Terms and Conditions which constitute a binding contract between you and ANUSA.

ANUSA reserves the right to invalidate any ticket it considers that the ticket holder has breached these Terms and Conditions without offering refund, replacement or compensation.

Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, as a policy, neither ANUSA or Moshtix will offer refunds for tickets purchased in any event, including cancellation of the Event by ANUSA due to any cause, including without limitation, fire, smoke, severe weather or denial of access to the Event Site by the Australian National University for any reason.

Any provision of these terms and conditions which is or becomes unenforceable shall not, by virtue of this alone, invalidate the enforceability of any other term or condition.

 

Directions of Event Staff

You must follow the reasonable directions of all event staff, especially security personnel. You must comply with the law at all times throughout the event.

 

Youth and Proof of Age Policy

  • Underage attendees must purchase a Youth Ticket. The Youth Ticket will have a separate line at entry. Youth Tickets are only available if you are aged 17.

  • Youth Tickets will only be available to students of the Australian National University, as per theStudent Ticket Policy below.

  • Accepted Proof of Age – If you enter the site you will be required to produce adequate proof of your age including:

    • Australian Photo Driver’s Licence or Learner’s Permit;

    • Passport (current or expired less than 2 years ago, not cancelled);

    • Australian Birth Certificate (a copy is acceptable) AND a current Photo ID (eg. Student Card), or;

    • KEYPASS Photo ID or equivalent proof of age card:

      • QLD Photo Identification Card;

      • NSW Proof of Age Card or a NSW Photo Card issued by RMS

      • WA Photo Card issued by WA Department of Transport.

  • Youth Ticket purchasers will be uniquely required to provide the following at purchase:

    • An uploaded photo or photocopy of valid Proof of Age documentation (as above), and;

    • Parent or Guardian Contact Details, meaning:

      • Full Name;

      • Relationship;

      • Contact Phone Number, and;

      • Contact Email.

  • Any ticket holder without valid proof of age will be denied entry.

  • Any underage individual holding an 18+ ticket will be denied entry. Any adult holding a youth ticket will be denied entry.

  • The ‘Bar’ and greater ‘Chill Out Space’ in the centre of the venue will be considered the ‘wet area’. Alcohol may only be consumed or carried in these areas and must be discarded before moving to either the crowd, amenities or entrance areas.

  • Event staff and security reserve the power to permanently remove any attendee, underage or otherwise, found engaging in, promoting or assisting underage drinking.

  • In addition to removal from the event, anyone found supplying an underage attendee alcohol may be referred to the police.

  • When purchasing a Youth Ticket, underage attendees must additionally supply contact details for a parent/guardian, emergency contact and digital copy of photo ID.

 

Student Ticket Policy

  • Student Tickets will only be available to students of the Australian National University. Students of other universities or academic institutions must purchase a General Admission ticket.

  • Student ticket purchasers, in addition to all other required information and documentation, will be required to provide their ANU Student Number at purchase (ie. uXXXXXXX).

  • In addition to Proof of Age (as per the Youth and Proof of Age Policy above), student ticket holdersat entry will be required to provide a student card OR a valid Proof of Enrolment from the Australian National University. For more information on valid proof of enrolment, see the ANU.

  • Any student ticket holder without valid proof of enrolment will be denied entry.

 

Alcohol and Drugs Policy

  • BYO Alcohol is strictly disallowed. 

    • Ticket Holders attempting to enter the event with alcohol will be not allowed to enter.

    • Attendees discovered in the venue with BYO alcohol will have that alcohol confiscated from them and may be removed from the venue.

  • Illegal Substances and Drugs are strictly disallowed.

    • Any Ticket Holders found attempting to enter the event with illicit substances will not be allowed to enter.

    • Attendees found supplying, consuming or in possession of illicit substances will be removed from the event by security personnel and may be referred to the police.

    • This prohibition will not be enforced if you are voluntarily presenting to any pill testing facility that may be provided during the Event to reduce risk of harm from drug use. Use of illicit drugs is never safe and remains prohibited at the Event. ANUSA does not encourage harmful use of alcohol or illicit drug use.   • Friday Night Party will enforce a No Smoking policy across the entire event space. Attendees who breach this policy may be removed from the event by staff.

 

Event Tickets

Entry to the Event will be granted with presentation of:

  • A valid bar-coded ticket;

  • A printed copy of a valid bar-coded ticket;

  • A valid bar-coded Passbook ticket, or;

  • Any other copy of a valid bar-coded ticket in a readable and legitimate format.

 

All prices quoted for tickets at each stage of release will be in Australian dollars, GST inclusive. Tickets will be distributed to purchasers via the Moshtix platform through their chosen contact addresses. Any concerns, challenges or questions relating to ticket purchases and the reception of such should be directed to Moshtix and not ANUSA and its representatives.

 

Event Wristbands

  • Upon entry, you will be provided an event wristband corresponding to your ticket.

  • Your event wristband must be worn for the full duration of your attendance at the event.

  • Event personnel and security will be instructed to report and evict those without wristbands from the event. Should you fail to wear a wristband and be evicted as a result, you will not be entitled to a refund or compensation.

 

Search on Entry

  • It is a condition of entry to the event that both you and your possessions be searched for prohibited items at the point of entry to the event. 

  • Should you not consent to this search, event staff reserve the right to deny you entry.

  • Should any prohibited items be found during this search, event staff reserve the right both to confiscate such items and to deny you entry.

Photography and/or Recording by You

  • Photography and recording using personal and casual cameras is permitted at the event

  • Photography and recording using professional camera equipment is not permitted at the event. It is to the discretion of event staff to determine if your camera equipment qualifies as professional.

  • Photography and recording of artists is permitted, provided that:

    • Images are for private purposes, and;

    • Images are not made for sale or commercial distribution / display.

 

Photography and/or Recording by ANUSA 

By attending the event you agree to be included in official photography, filming and sound recordings of the event and for these images and recordings to be used by ANUSA and/or its affiliates in the future in any medium or context - promotional, commercial or otherwise - without further authorisation or compensation to you.

 

No Passouts

Passouts will not be permitted at the event. 

 

Lockout

An event lockout will set in at 8.30pm. Past this time, no further entries to the event will be processed or permitted.

 

Your Behaviour

There is a zero tolerance policy during the Event for disrespectful, threatening, unsafe, destructive, anti-social, abusive, aggressive, violent, riotous, racist, sexist, homophobic, insulting, harassing or other inappropriate behaviour. ANUSA and event staff reserve the right to deny your entry to the event or to have you evicted from the event, if in the absolute discretion of event staff, you have engaged in such behaviour or event staff deem you have otherwise breached these terms and conditions.

 

Food and Non-Alcoholic Drink

  • No BYO Food or Drink will be permitted into the event venue.

  • Unsealed, commercially branded, empty and clear plastic water bottles will be permitted into the event.

 

Risk

The safety, security and wellbeing of event attendees is of the highest priority to ANUSA. You must comply with any safety directions given to you by ANUSA or its agents during the Event. You must:

  • Wear appropriate footwear and clothing on the event site;

  • Not mosh, crowd surf, stage dive or perform any other dangerous crowding behaviours;

  • Wear appropriate protective equipment to your needs, including ear plugs, face masks, warm clothing, etc.

To the extent permitted by law, ANUSA takes no responsibility for any injury sustained by you as a result of your breach of any of these terms and conditions or failure to follow directions from ANUSA representatives or agents and other standards of reasonable and safe behaviour.

 

Environment

ANUSA endeavours to protect the environment and community of the ANU and of Fellows Oval. You must be respectful and place any litter in the provided bins around the event space. Be mindful how your actions may impact the environment and those around you. 

 

Personal Property

You remain at all times responsible for any personal property you bring into the Event. ANUSA and its agents will in no case be responsible to you for any loss, theft or damage to any personal property or personal effects arising from your participation or attendance at the Event.

 

Medical Emergency or Illness

If medical emergency or illness occurs during the Event, ANUSA or event staff may arrange medical treatment and/or emergency evacuation as deemed essential for your safety and well-being or the safety and well-being of other patrons at the Event. You consent to such medical treatment and evacuation, including by ambulance, should this be reasonably deemed necessary by event staff, and you will be responsible for any medical costs arising therefrom.

 

Prohibited Items

Items which are prohibited at the event include but are not limited to:

  • BYO Alcohol (see Alcohol and Drugs Policy);

  • Illicit substances and drugs (see Alcohol and Drugs Policy);

  • Glass;

  • Weapons, or other dangerous items;

  • Flammable liquids or substances;

  • Animals (with the exceptions of service dogs as well as emergency service dogs);

  • Umbrellas;

  • Cigarettes;

  • Advanced personal vaporizers (or modified APVs) or liquid refills for E-Cigarettes;

  • Sound Systems, such as portable speakers;

  • Unauthorised solicitation materials;

  • Fires and open flames, and;

  • Any item that event staff (in their discretion) deem to be dangerous or in violation of the policies or intentions of the event and its outcomes.

 

Force Majeure Event

To the extent permitted by law, if a Force Majeure Event occurs neither ANUSA nor any staff or agents of ANUSA will be liable to you or any other person for any loss, injury or damage of any kind, nor will you be entitled to a refund. A Force Majeure Event includes any event which prevents, impedes, or makes impossible, impracticable or unsafe the conduct or continued conduct of the Event or any part of the Event including any act of God, civil unrest, riot, fire, flood, explosion, terrorist or other attack, storm, shortage or unavailability of essential services, any event involving serious injury, illness or harm to any person in the Event Site, unavailability of transport, denial of access to the Venue by the Venue owner on the grounds of safety or any event of evacuation of the Venue on safety grounds.
