Free Student Meals

Everyone needs to eat, but unfortunately, healthy food can sometimes be a bit hard to come by during your time at university.

There are many possible reasons for this. For example, you could be strapped for cash (or lost your wallet), too busy with exams to even think about cooking or stuck on campus late studying. Our student meals program helps with free breakfast, lunch and groceries.

Petition: Park it! Freeze the parking rates at ANU

In this week’s OnCampus, ANU announced that they were increasing the price of surface parking permits for 2025 by at least 177% with the student resident permits increasing by over 4x their current price. We are in a cost of living crisis and it is being felt by students and staff alike on this campus. We're teaming up with ANU Interhall Council and the NTEU to reverse these enormous fee-hikes.

Free Theatre Tickets: Peter and the Starcatcher

ANUSA has teamed up with Peter and the Starcatcher to give away 50 free theatre tickets each night to ANU students! (Tue, Wed, Thu next week)

This highly anticipated version of Peter and the Starcatcher blurs the lines between reality and fantasy, traversing lands of curious creatures.

In the prequel to Peter Pan, before Neverland there was an island. Before Captain Hook, a pirate. Before Wendy, her mother Molly. Before Peter Pan, a nameless Boy.

Open Letter: Tear Down the Poster Policy!

ANU announced a new policy this week around postering that actively encroaches on the ability of students, staff, clubs, societies, and other groups to advertise and poster. If this policy is implemented unchanged, it will harm campus life.

Sign on to the open letter below in support of allowing posters and advertisements to remain part of the vibrancy of our campus. Link to the form is in the letter.

Panel: What is happening in The Democratic Republic of The Congo?

TW: SASH, child and adult slavery

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is enduring a silent genocide. Conflicting interests of many actors in the region has created instability for decades. Mining companies have exacerbated child and adult slavery and inhumane working conditions, and sexual assault is very prevalent in the country.

Join Dr Karo Moret-Miranda, Dr Babatunde Obamamoye, and Joel Odota as they bring an intersectional lens to how the genocide became to be, who the genocide affects most, how it is perpetuated, how the people are exploited using neocolonialism, how we're linked to The DRC and what we can do as students to raise awareness and contribute to ending the genocide.

Transparency Summit 2024: Secrecy is not security: 17 October
Free tickets for ANU students with code: COMPLIMENTARY24

A lack of transparency and integrity lies near the heart of every political issue facing Australia.

In our climate policies, our defence procurement and even in how we develop our public policy – flimsy excuses obscure even flimsier decision-making.

So how can we reverse a culture of secrecy?

The 2024 Transparency Summit will connect those who have been stonewalled – and keep the pressure on all levels of government to ensure the interests of all Australians are represented in our policy-making process.
