Click here ![]() Statement from ANUSA on the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor Students have long lost confidence in university leadership after a year of cuts under RenewANU has left our community in crisis and our university’s future uncertain. We are sick and tired of being told that “change is hard”. What’s hard is seeing a university you love be run into the ground. What’s hard is the extent of stress and fear that staff have been under for the past 12 months, leading so many valued and experienced people to leave the ANU. The damage that has been done is in many ways irreparable, but it can be partly healed through genuine accountability and recognition of the systemic and repeat governance failures over the course of many years. The announcement yesterday is the cumulative effort of a campaign led by the NTEU, staff, students, and our broader community who understand that the ANU as the national university should actually mean something. The ANU community is at its strongest when we stand together and support each other. Students and staff are the beating heart of this university. We will continue to fight for its future.
