Level 3.01 $52.99 per hour + 14% superannuation

Under the general direction of the ANUSA General Manager, the ANUSA Administrative Assistant undertakes a broad range of administrative tasks relating to the day-to-day activities of the Association.

ANUSA and ANU ISD Advocacy

Last week, ANUSA ISD Officer Anuva Rai and President Charley Ellwood met with ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr to discuss a range of International Student Concerns. From Visa increases to racism on campus, ANUSA is advocating for a Canberra that truly welcomes international students, and ensures their safety.

ANUSA will continue working with the ACT government in advocating for safer university spaces and a fairer higher education sector. Thank you to Chief Minister Barr for your ongoing support.

Call for interviews on the experience of students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds

Are you from a traditionally underrepresented background and would like to share your experience at ANU to provide a better understanding of the challenges you face and where you find support?

Researchers are looking for current undergraduate domestic students who identify as coming from a traditionally underrepresented background (i.e. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, first-generation to attend university, from a rural or remote location, from a low-socioeconomic background or students with a disability) to participate in an individual interview to share your experiences and feelings on your time with the University.

The findings of this study may have important implications for the programs run to support students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds at ANU allowing ANU to improve their support and services.

This interview will be conducted via Zoom, preferably recorded to minimise misunderstanding what was said, and will take approximately an hour to complete. Eligible students who participate in an interview will receive a $20 digital gift voucher as a thank you for their time. Register your interest to participate here.

Wins for Students - Graduations

After a council paper put forward by our Postgraduate Member on ANU Council Guoqing (Bruce) Pan, the university has made a commitment to return to two graduation ceremonies per year from 2027. This is a welcome change across campus for all students, particular our International Student community who have been so vocal about this issue for the past 12 months. ANUSA opposed the decision to go to one ceremony and is supportive of the return to two.

ANUSA looks forward to seeing how this commitment progresses and will be ensuring that student voice is absolutely at the core of its design.

Graduations should be a time of celebration and community. Returning to two graduation ceremonies and at a time that is most accessible for students is absolutely crucial for ensuring this remains the case.
