We know that students are doing it tough at the moment with day-to-day expenses higher than ever. That’s why ANUSA is here for students with a variety of programs to help you. Take a look at what we have on offer below and click the links for more info.
Food Support
Free breakfast at the BKSS
ANUSA provides a free continental breakfast for students during the teaching term. Breakfast is available from the BKSS 8:30am – 10:30am, Monday to Friday.
Free lunch at the Food Co-op
ANUSA is able to provide lunches to students who are facing difficulties acquiring lunch. You can access 5 vouchers per year.
Student Bites
In partnership with OzHarvest Canberra, Student Bites collects quality excess food from supermarkets and delivers it free of charge to students and other communities in need. Student Bites arrives at the ANUSA Union Pantry every Friday with a fresh delivery of fruit and vegetables, as well as the occasional baked goods and eggs.
Union Pantry
Union Pantry is a student-led, free food and essential items service for ANU students. Sessions happen three times a week and registration opens Mondays 2pm.
Grocery Vouchers
Provides access to groceries and essential items.
Financial Support
Designed to provide financial support to eligible enrolled students experiencing sudden or unexpected financial hardship that adversely affects their education.
Supports HDR students with rent, living costs etc as they complete their program
Disability Students’ Association Subsidy
Financial assistance for ANU students who identify as having a disability.
Medical and Health Support
Assists students with unexpected medical bills or required treatment which impact ability to manage living costs.
ANUSA PrEP Subsidy
Provides financial support for PrEP medicine which lowers the risk of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
Other Support
Provide financial support to eligible enrolled students who use, or would like to use, a bicycle for transport.
Textbook Program
Supports students facing financial hardship to purchase books.
Accommodation Assistance
Provides emergency accommodation assistance
