Overview  

The ANU Students’ Association Bicycle Program is designed to provide financial support to eligible enrolled students who use, or would like to use, a bicycle for transport. 

The main criteria for support are the demonstration of a genuine need and specific bicycle-related expenses. This program provides reimbursement up to a maximum of $150 for costs related to bicycle use, such as:

• Bicycle servicing

• Bicycle parts

• Bicycle safety equipment (lights, reflectors, helmet)

• Bicycle purchase

• Any other cost that can be associated directly with bicycle usage

To apply for reimbursement, students must provide a clear and reasonable explanation for why they require financial assistance for bike-related expenses, along with the amount requested. Once the request is approved, the student will need to cover the cost upfront and then submit the receipt to us for reimbursement.

While there is no official partnership with any specific bicycle shop in the ACT, ANUSA recommends Mojo Cycles as a low-cost and student-friendly option near campus. Mojo Cycles is located near campus and offers student-specific services, such as its “Pub Bike Service” priced at $40, as well as refurbished bikes for sale. Eligibility  

• Be enrolled as an ANU student 

• Be able to demonstrate financial need and tell us how the program could support you

• Be able to demonstrate specific bicycle-related costs with a receipt or transaction record

  Application Steps

1. Complete all sections of the form. (Click apply here button, then make sure you select Program -> Bike Program)

2. Provide a confirmation of enrolment letter for the current semester

3. Provide a reason for your application and the amount you requested (up to $150)

4. Once approved, the student will have to pay up front for the reimbursement.

5. You may be asked to provide additional evidence where required
