ANU Counselling 

ANU Counselling is a free, short-term, confidential and non-diagnostic service available to all currently enrolled ANU students located in Australia. Students currently located overseas are encouraged to make contact for advice about alternative support options. Students don’t need a referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan from a General Practitioner to register and attend appointments.

ANU Psychology Clinic

The ANU Psychology Clinic is a training, treatment and research centre offering specialised psychological services ANU students. The clinic provides assessment, counselling and therapy for adults and children / adolescents who may be experiencing emotional or behavioural problems including anxiety, fears and phobias, depression, stress, and coping with health conditions (i.e., sleep, pain). The ANU Psychology clinic provides individual therapy, group programs and cognitive assessments.

ANU Wellbeing & Support Line

The ANU Wellbeing and Support Line is a phone service for all current students who are experiencing situational stress, emotional difficulties and mental health concerns. The ANU Wellbeing and Support Line works with ANU Counselling and is operational 24 hours a day.

MindMap ACT

Mindmap is a ACT Youth Portal is a dedicated portal for children and young people (up to 25 years of age) to help navigate Canberra’s mental health system and to find the right service and support. To find support, students can access the website, contact them via phone, webchat, or email. 

They are available Monday to Sunday between 11AM to 10PM, 7 DAYS/WEEK.

Someone.Health

Students are able to access Bulk-Billed (if eligible) or low-cost psychology appointments online via Someone.Health.

Canberra Medicare Mental Health Centre

Students can access free mental health support (including counselling and psychology appointments) through Canberra Medicare Mental Health. No appointment, referral or Medicare card will be needed – anyone living in Canberra and the surrounding region, can walk in and talk to someone for mental health support.

Headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds. Headspace can help young people with mental health, physical health (including sexual health), alcohol and other drug services, and work and study support

Peer CARE companion – Roses in the Ocean

Community Connection Walk hosted by people with lived experience of suicide who value connection, kindness and connecting with others in the community. Happens 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 9:30am, meets under International Flags Parkes Place West, Lake Burley Griffin (look for ‘Roses in the Ocean’).
