HDR Completion Support Grant

The ANUSA HDR Completion Support Grant is designed to support the HDR community with rent, living costs, and other similar expenses as they complete their program. This grant is intended to help with any gap between the end of scholarship payments and thesis submission. The maximum grant available is a one-off payment of up to $1,000 per candidate.

Eligibility

  • Be enrolled in a Research degree (such as PhD, MPhil, SJD, etc.) in their final months of completing their program.

  • Have a notification of intent to submit.

  • Experiencing a gap between their scholarship and the end of their program.

  • Be able to demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information

This is a one-off grant and the money will not have to be paid back. As such, grants are not a permanent means for a student to support themselves.

While individual circumstances may vary, this grant can cover:

  • Unexpected medical bills

  • Accommodation, such as rent

  • Day-to-day costs

  • Costs associated with caring responsibilities

The grant will not be provided for the following costs/reasons:

  • HECS or course fees

  • Discretionary expenses

  • Credit card or other debts

  • Motor-vehicle related expenses

  • A buffer fund for non-immediate use

How to Apply

  1. Click “Apply Here” > Financial Grant > Select  HDR Completion Support Grant  in “Type of Grant”

  2. Provide the requested supporting documentation, which includes a confirmation of enrolment letterbank statements from all bank accounts for the last 60 days, and a notification of intent to submit a thesis.

  3. Provide any additional documentation to prove that you are in your final stage of the HDR degree.

  4.  You may be asked to provide additional evidence where required.

We do not accept CSV bank statements for our grants.
