Accommodation Assistance Program
Overview
To provide emergency accommodation assistance to eligible enrolled students who are experiencing an emergency that has resulted in difficulties securing accommodation.
Provisions
ANUSA will allocate, according to need and available funding, spaces at The Canberra Accommodation Centre (Braddon) for currently enrolled students at ANUSA’s discretion for up to 7 nights’ accommodation in a private single room with shared facilities. ANUSA will cover accommodation costs for successful candidates, but will not cover any costs or fees above the approved amount, including the cost of damages, extensions to occupancy, or extra services.
Eligibility
Be enrolled as an ANU student
Be in search of long-term accommodation
Be in need of short-term emergency accommodation
Not rely on Emergency Accommodation Assistance for long-term occupancy
Application Steps
Interested applicants must submit a completed application form along with the following documents:
Complete all sections of this form (Click Apply here button below → Select Program –> Accommodation Assistance Program).
Provide a confirmation of enrolment letter for the current semester
Provide additional evidence of your current accommodation need – e.g. being on a waitlist for ANU Housing application, queries to off-campus agents and any other supporting documents.
You may be asked to provide additional evidence where required
ANUSA Student Assistance Team will decide based on evidence if a student qualifies for accommodation support and will determine the duration of occupancy allowed. Successful applicants are required to notify the ANUSA Student Assistance Team of any changes to the length of their stay, especially if they need fewer days’ accommodation than granted.
