Student Bites

Student Bites is a food program started right here at ANU. In partnership with OzHarvest Canberra, Student Bites collects quality excess food from supermarkets and delivers it free of charge to students and other communities in need in Canberra and beyond.

Student Bites arrives at the ANUSA Union Pantry every Friday with a fresh delivery of fruit and vegetables, as well as the occasional baked goods and eggs.

Food is limited to one paper bag’s worth of food per person per week. This is to ensure that students don’t miss out.

When is it?

Friday afternoons in term-time from 12:30pm-4pm

*please note that the exact time of Student Bites may vary from week to week. Keep an eye on the BKSS Facebook page for updates!

How it works:

Operating on the principle of mutual aid, ANU students can access the pantry’s resources without any specific conditions. Students should register in advance through the Student Bites Registration Form. A maximum of 35 students can register. You must register in advance to access the Student Bites.

Registration for Student Bites will open at 2:30pm each Tuesday. The form will close once maximum registration has been reached. If you’re no longer able to attend, please email sa.admin@anu.edu.au to cancel your spot so we can offer it to another student.

Location:

The ANUSA Union Pantry is located on the ANU campus on Kingsley Street under Warrumbul Lodge. The entrance is opposite the Drill Hall Gallery and Toad Hall.
