Extenuating Circumstances Application (ECA)

Sometimes unexpected things get in the way of your studies — illness, family emergencies, financial hardship, cultural responsibilities, or even sudden disruptions during exams. If this happens, you can apply for an Extenuating Circumstances Application (ECA) to ask for adjustments such as a new due date, deferred exam, alternative assessment, or adjusted weighting.

The ECA process is simple and confidential. You can apply online through ANUHub, and if you’d like extra support, the ANUSA Student Assistance Team is here to help you every step of the way.
