ANUSA Election - Nominations Now Open

Each year, ANUSA holds its general elections for students to decide on a new team. All positions are held for a period of one year, beginning December 1st and ending November 30th the following year.

Ticket Registrations and candidate nominations for the ANUSA 2026 Election are now open.

We recommend all potential candidates check the Call for Nominations document and the 2026 election guide, which outline all of our positions and eligibility requirements, important election dates, and other important information for the ANUSA elections.

Ticket registrations close 5pm on Tuesday 22 September 2026 and Candidate Nominations close 5pm on Thursday 24 September 2026.

Do take the time to consider nominating. The elections are your opportunity to influence what your student union does.

Visit the ANUSA election page to find out more and access forms. We also provide paper forms at the ANUSA office.

10 Tonnes of Food Donated to Students

In the last financial year, ANUSA gave away 10 tonnes of free food and groceries to ANU Students through Union Pantry.

That weighs as much as...
1,923 echidnas, 25 sky whales, 28,169 slices of raisin toast, 1.1 Canberra bus shelters, or 11% of the Telstra Tower Mast!

Did you know we also accept donations? Just drop by the ANUSA office to donate any non-perishable food items.

Protect Our Mid-Sem Break

Sign the ANUSA Ed-Com petition to protect the mid-Semester break! The ANU has recently proposed putting mid-semester exams during the break; a period used by students and staff as a time to travel, visit home, work, and protect their mental health. This proposal could stretch a 12-week semester with a two-week break into a 14-week semester with uncertainty about when exams will fall.

Absence of student consultation on a change of this scale is unacceptable. Sign the petition via the link in our bio to make your voice heard, and keep an eye out for our upcoming student survey to push for change and alternatives.
