Legal help for clubs

The ANUSA Legal Service provides legal support to students involved in running clubs, regardless of whether the club is affiliated with ANUSA. We aim to support you in the best ways that we can and encourage you to reach out to us if you ever need assistance.

Some of the issues we can help with are:

  • Advice on potential contracts
  • Obligations of officers under club governing documents
  • Amending your constitution
  • Legal liability for activities
  • Advice on legal structures for clubs

To assist club officers in their roles, we also hold information sessions regarding how to obtain and maintain the ACNC charity registration and your reporting obligations as a not-for-profit organisation for tax purposes. However, please note, we do not provide accounting or tax advice for club.

We also cannot help with club grant issues, including questions about grant rejections by ANUSA.
