ANUSA advocates for students in a variety of ways.

– Representing students on university committees
– Consulting on changes that impact the student experience
– Providing free and confidential services and referral for students
– Advocating for individual and cohorts of students

Departments
ANUSA has seven autonomous departments, including six departments representing marginalised groups of our community. Find out more about each department below.

ANU Disabilities' Student Association

The ANU Disabilities Student Association (or just DSA) is for all ANU students who identify as having a disability.

ANU BIPOC Department

The BIPOC Department is an autonomous student-led group that provides a community of support and solidarity for all BIPOC students at the ANU.

ANU Environment Collective

The ANU Environment Collective (EC) is an activist body with a focus on environmental justice.

ANU Indigenous Department

The Indigenous Department provides services for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at ANU.

ANU International Students' Department

ANU International Students’ Department (ISD) is the peak representative body for international students.

**ANU Queer* Department**

The Queer* Department advocates for all LGBTIQA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, intersex, questioning and or asexual or queer* for short) students at ANU.

ANU Women's Department

The ANU Women's Department provides advocacy, support and representation to women, non-binary, transgender, gender-diverse students

Education and Welfare Action group

The ANUSA Education and Welfare Action Group fights for the material and educational interests of students at ANU.

Parents & Carers

ANUSA Parents and Carers is a platform for ANU students who are parents or carers. They advocate for parents and carers to the University and ANUSA on issues of education, welfare and student experience.
